Where the river meets the sea, Club Bentota meets them both. Set in a magical location upon a peninsula where lush gardens give way to a wide expanse of beautiful beach lapped by the glittering Indian Ocean and the Bentota River, this welcoming and good value all inclusive choice has lively activities and a leisurely mood.

Lush gardens lead to sprawling Bentota Beach. Dine at Garden Restaurant and sip drinks at the open-air Terrace Bar. Take a dip in the swimming pool and keep little ones entertained in the children’s play area.

Other hotel facilities include daytime tennis, table tennis, volleyball, billiards, watersports, a small boutique and a jewellery shop. Regular evening entertainment includes a weekly cultural show, live bands and theme nights.

Accommodation

149 rooms, each with airconditioning, twin beds, telephone, television, mini-fridge, shower and balcony or terrace.

Standard rooms are small bungalows overlooking the gardens.
Deluxe rooms are slightly larger and on the ground or first floors, with a small sitting area and garden or ocean views.
Suites are more spacious and available on request.

  • Galle is famous for its antique shops selling colonial furniture and ornaments, porcelain and pottery.
  • A short drive up from Galle is Ambalangoda, selling antiques and intricately carved ‘devil masks’ traditionally worn to banish demons.
  • Further south in Koggala, purchase delicious cinnamon from the local plantation.
