Spa and Beauty

The Sanctuary

(Open every day from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm)

The Sanctuary, a heaven of peace and serenity, located inside the hotel, is a 600 square metre space dedicated to treatments for the body and mind. One of the 9 treatment rooms is located in the tropical gardens, overlooking the lagoon, offering massages and treatment with a soft sea breeze. The Sanctuary is innovative and offers complete programs based on the clients' individual needs. All of the beauty treatments have been entrusted to Carita. This luxury French cosmetic brand has developed an exclusive concept called “Haute Beauté”, a reference to the elegance of the fashion

term “Haute Couture”.

Carita: the Haute Beauté concept

In the 1960’s, two sisters Maria and Rosy Carita created an innovative concept in the Maison de Beauté a fabulous mansion located in Paris at 11 Faubourg St-Honoré. On the strength of their talent, hard work, creativity and experience, they revolutionised the world of hair and beauty with the creation of a global beauty concept for face, body and hair. They said that “there are no ugly women. They all have a beauty that is waiting to be revealed”. They knew how to communicate to their team the “artisans of beauty” their passion, knowledge and determination to reach their objective.

The innovative and daring Carita spirit is perpetuated today through the excellence of the treatments provided. Their Haute Beauté rituals find their origins in 3 products that are the icons of the brand and their incredible efficiency is enhanced by the manual work of the beauticians.

The Rénovateur is a secret blend of crushed sunflower seeds for exfoliation and the softeni ngvirtues of clove, thyme and lemon essential oils. It can be used on the face, the body or the scalp.  Itrefines the skin’s texture, stimulates cell regeneration and reveals an incredibly radiant complexion.

Fluide de Beauté 14 is a legendary ultra-nourishing dry oil, which helps release everyday tension to induce relaxation and optimize the overall benefit of the treatment.

Ideal Pro-Lift is a machine which optimises the effect of the products and enhances manual techniques. It offers a range of benefits: deeply cleansing the skin, boosting oxygen absorption, promoting the penetration of active ingredients and stimulating cells and muscle fibres.

Explore the surroundings

Destination introduction

On your holiday in Mauritius, you can expect paradisiacal sweeps of tranquil white sands, backdrops of rugged, rainforest-carpeted mountains and some of the world’s finest accommodation.

Many of our fantastic Mauritius hotels offer championship golf courses. You'll also find sublimely pampering spas throughout and a flavoursome local cuisine influenced by the whole Indian Ocean shore and beyond.

Mauritius holiday highlights
  • Your Mauritius holiday should include a round of golf on one of the island's breathtaking championship courses.
  • Take an exhilarating deep-sea fishing expedition to catch marlin and shark.
  • Head to Port Louis' market, with its intoxicating smell of spices and fresh tea leaves.Upgrade to private transfers at a selection of hotels and you'll be able to check-in for your flight at your hotel.

Shopping

Curepipe is the most reputed spot for tourist shopping but Port Louis is quite good as well.

Chinese and Indian merchants will dazzle you with sari lengths in shimmering silk or cotton. Hand-woven saris and blouses are the most attractive. Shirts, dresses and even knitwear are likely to be better bargains than back home.

Baskets, hats, fans, table napkins and tablemats provide inexpensive souvenirs of island handicrafts. Along with a whole range of shell jewellery and ornaments, there are objects in wood and jade. Straw figurines, dolls and macrame complete a particularly varied range of local handicrafts. Models of boats and old sailing ships are often beautifully made. Numerous excellent craftsmen in Curepipe compete for attention. Duty-free goods include cameras, watches-and diamonds.

Bargaining is not going to get you very far, except possibly in markets and with beach hawkers. Each town will have its boutik, a little local shop stocking everything, but there are plenty of supermarkets, too.

Rum and rum-mixes will recall sunny memories of your Mauritian visit, or you can toast your return with locally grown tea.
