In the city of Hurghada, you'll find bazaars and jewellery sellers in the old town of El Dahar, along with street stalls where you can sample local seafood and fruit delicacies. Outside of the city, desert safaris and trips to see Bedouin villages are popular, to experience how the desert tribes-people live.
Other nearby attractions include the ancient monasteries of St Paul and St Anthony, Roman ruins in the desert sands, and the short climb up Anfish Mountain, an amazing place from which to view the stunning sunset panorama over the sea.
